Dear friends,
Recently I posted a call for inputs for the ESCAP Regional Implementation Meetings happening next week (Nov 26 & 27) in Jakarta. Thanks very much for the submissions received so far, they are very helpful!
I just wanted to make this final call for inputs, since there are 2 more days to put in submissions.
I have received the list of Major Groups participants: It looks like I am the only person under the Youth Major Group who is attending. All the more, I urge you to send your inputs to make the most of this opportunity for our respective communities' interests to be brought to the table.
We will rarely have this kind of luxury in time and interaction when CSD-16 rolls around next May. So, let's do our best to do it justice.
Below again are the submission guidelines and links to further information. Once again, organisations and individuals who submit will be acknowledged in the paper I prepare.
I hope to hear from some of you soon!
Best Bernise

The UN Economic & Social Commission for Asia & the Pacific (ESCAP) Regional Implementation Meetings (RIM) for CSD-16 will be held in Jakarta later this month. The meetings will focus on the themes of agriculture, rural development, land, drought, desertification and Africa, according to the issue cluster for CSD 16 & 17 (http://www.un.org/esa/sustdev/csd/review.htm).
We have been notified that Bernise Ang from SYINC (based in Singapore) has been nominated to attend under the Children & Youth Major Group.
If you wish to send your inputs, please note:
• Submissions should be brief (no longer than 1 page per theme) • Clearly indicate which thematic area/s you are addressing (maximum 3) • Your submission may also address cross-cutting themes* • Latest date for submissions: 23rd November, 8pm Singapore time (GMT+8) • Send all submissions and queries to: bernise@syinc.org
Due to space & time constraint, we cannot guarantee all submissions will be reflected. However, converging points made by different youth representatives will be captured to the greatest extent possible. CASE STUDIES OF YOUTH-LED PROJECTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
